Drugs!!!The Monster....

    This post is started,after I read about the murder of a child,who was roasted,as the two Grannies of his,baby-sitting him,were,under the effect of LSD,which they consumed for the first time out of curiosity.They thought he was a LAMB or his legs reminded them of the animal.Their son was a drug addict.He later tried to commit suicide by jumping from a bridge,as per reports.
    Reportedly,CIA brought Drug Culture into the USA for Social Control!
    It is reported,that Big Pharma benefits by Drugs....

    Drugs have been a problem,with States supporting the same,but proclaiming to fight,it.Most of the problems,like Murders,excessive Violence,anti-social behaviour, can be attributed to Drugs,among many.Hence I have started this post.....

Australian Federal Police said Wednesday that they arrested a Canadian man and a U.S. man in Sydney after finding 350 kilograms (770 pounds) of cocaine and meth. The men were charged with importing drugs and face a maximum of life in prison if convicted.
It was the police agency's second major drug bust in a week. On Friday, police said officials had tracked down a boat carrying 200 kilograms (440 pounds) of cocaine to Australia after it ran aground in the small island nation of Tonga. A corpse was found on board. Officials are trying to determine the cause of death.

       I have some trees in my House,which include Neem,Berry and Almond.During Winter the Berries start forming in huge quantities and this attracts the Birds.The Almonds are also produced more in Winter,though I he found them forming throughout the Year.The Sunbirds and Red-vented Bul Bul seem to like the Nectar of the Neem Flowers!A year or so ago,I had seen a yellow Sunbird drinking nectar from the Neem Flowers.Had I known this,I would have allowed MORE Neem trees to grow!
    I have noticed the following Birds:-
1.Sparrows.New chicks have born recently and they seem to fear me LESS.
2,The Myna
3.Parrots
4.Robin


 
 5.Red Vented Bul Bul
6.Sun Bird
7.The Cuckoo which is absent now a days,in my house,but is quite common in my neighbourhood.
8.Three other birds ,one of which is Spotted Dove.

10.Greater Coucal or Crow Pheasant.One in this species,is friendly with me and would call out,when flushing and other sounds are heard from my house.The photo below is from THIS link.

         Bees have the "habit" of building Hives in the trees.Now the 8th one ,has been built,on the Berry Tree.

                  For the last two days I have been seeing the Sparrows less.The Spotted Dove continues to call out.
                  The Beehive has become quite big.
23/11/2012:-
                  One  baby Sparrow,came today for food.The Spotted Dove called out to me both in the morning and evening.The Robins [actually,there is a pair] also called out to me for food,many times,as usual.

                        At about 1600 Hrs,the baby Sparrow called out for snacks.There was a bigger one along with it,which was aggressive towards it.
                        Temperature 18 to 21 Degrees Centigrade...

                     The Sunbird has formed a nest[found out about a week ago].It does not seem to mind or fear, me.There is a huge Beehive nearby.They are about 8 and 10 feet,respectively above ground.
1/3/2013:-
1500Hrs:- A Sunbird[Pop] and its Chick called out for Food/Snacks and were around for a long time.These two were grey.The Pop Sunbird is shining Blue.
1834 Hrs:- The Pop Sunbird,called out for Food/Snacks for the FIRST time,though it is around for about 2 years.
2/3/3013:- VASANTH, [Sping],is in the air.
              The Sunbird Mom was making a lot of fuss,near my Kitchen Window,Western side, and there was a of tweets.Quite unusual.One or both the Chicks seem to have come out of the nest.I do not know whether they were capable of flying.
3/3/2013:-  
1130hrs:-                 A Sunbird chick is unable to fly,despite trying to take off many times,by fluttering its wings. A Myna had spotted it.But I drove it away.It had started walking,on the ground directly,below the nest.It seems to have fallen,while trying to jump on to a branch of the Berry Tree,near the nest.
                 The Pop is a beautiful shiny blue coloured one.The Mom is,grey top,white-under-belly.The fallen Chick, was walking just an inch or two away from me,rolling on the ground fluttering its small and immature wings. The POP went very near it, many times feeding it,while I  was watching from about 5 feet away,from, inside my House.But He was not,aware of the danger to the Chick.Somebody, had to be near it.But He simply,went to get 'MORE" Food for the Chick. The Mom was afraid of me and went very near the Chick,many times,calling out,[to fly]?.Probably,it had fallen from the nest,at about 8 feet above ground.It may have broken its leg/s, but was walking,seemingly,without difficulty. I hope it would survive.Mom was very concerned about the safety of the Chick.
1300Hrs:-      SUNBIRD PAIR LOSE THEIR CHICK!
Some workers,called,"Mamos"[uncles] who have been working on road,here for the last two days,took the chick away.The parents of the chick,were searching for it with no clues..But, this time,they were not calling out,as they could not locate the Chick,The Mamo Kids, were also a nuisance constantly entering my house,going to the terrace to,get Almonds.
   The Chick did not make any sounds or CALLS,at all and had walked and jumped[sometimes fluttering its wings], about 25 feet,from ,the ground,below its,NEST ..
Talk of coincidence!
    A few minutes after the incident the Pop came.Could NOT locate the Chick.The Mom was also present,near the Western window in the Kitchen.

                 1300Hrs:-
                               A small chick today sat in the nest of the Sunbird.Has one of the chicks survived?The nest is too small.The lost Chick was quite Big.As I observed on 1/4/2012,the "small chick", is the Mom.It is feeding,"the Chicks", along with the Pop Sunbird[Blue Colour]..Mom is grey coloured.
 
25/3/2013:-
                 1500Hrs:-
                               Saw two "small",Sunbird chicks one Male[shining Blue colour] and the other Female[grey top with white lines and white underbelly].Both were drinking Nectar from the flowers of the Neem Tree.This sight, made me a little cheerful today.
                                The Berry Tree is full of ripe dark berries.Could not resist the temptation of having a few.Very delicious.Had four Almonds too,after a along time.
                                Saw the Red-vented Bul Bul pair at the same time.Some Mynas,Doves also.Sparrows are absent now a days.
                                 Cleaned the terrace.There were a lot of leaves.Now Spring is in the air!

                      1200 Hrs:- Saw one Sunbird Chick,enter the nest and spent some time inside.As mentioned earlier,it is THE MOM,taking care of the Chicks..
                      1400 Hrs:-Saw the Sparrows,Red-vented Bul Buls and a lone Male Sunbird!!The Female was not to be seen,.
28/3/2013:-
                  1600 to 1730 Hrs:- Was watering the Garden.The Female Indian Robin came.
Saw the Sparrow chick.Perhaps it was also,in need of insects.
30/3/2013:-
                     1044 hrs:-
                                    The Sparrow Chick came for food.Later,I could here the sounds of many Birds.
1700 to 1712Hrs:-
                             SURPRISE!Saw the Male Sunbird,which made some sounds[ not tweets], at a parrot which was sitting on the Neem Tree nearby.After about 2 minutes it flew away.Then a Myna came.The parrot flew away.So too the Myna.
                             Then my heart leapt ,as I saw two Sunbird Chicks,with YELLOW-COLOURED  under-side,flying near/hovering over[flowers], the Neem Tree, drinking nectar from the Neem Flowers!!  . 
VERY HAPPY DAY!

ACTIVITY IN THE SUNBIRD NEST!!!
The same Sunbird pair are again busy with the nest.Another brood?They were active and seemed to be FEEDING the Chicks.I'm waiting with hope!
     Mom is about 6 cm and Pop about 8 cm in length.Nest is about 20 cm long[height],about 4 cm in Diameter.The entrance is CIRCULAR,about 2.5 cm in Diameter.There is a canopy over the entrance.It is built,hanging,from the end of a branch of a Berry Tree, about 3 mm diameter,near a Beehive.Water source is nearby.THERE ARE NO BRANCHES NEAR THE NEST.THUS NO PREDATOR CAN HAVE AN APPROACH OR A FIRM HOLD.besides,the Bees will attack any intruder who disturbs them.The nest entrance faces the Bush of the Berry tree itself[south-west].It was initially facing South,during the fledgling of the previous pair by 16/17th March 2013.The present pair has adjusted the nest in such a way,that minimum Sunlight falls on it[ for a total of about barely an Hour,as of now].
    It may take about 20 to 22 days for the present Chicks to fledge.That is by about 20th April,2013,if things go well.
2/4/2013:-
                  The Sunbird pairs were feeding,the Chicks which could not be seen.I saw 11 feedings from about 1000 to 1800 Hrs.
                  The Male was more active in feeding.Its head, went deep down, the nest keeping its body outside, to feed the Chicks.
                  The Female also fed the Chicks but less and was on guard.It even warned me once!
                  So far,it has not been possible to see the Chicks,Perhaps they are "naked" now and have not opened their eyes!
                   While I watered the Garden [tress],Indian Robin[both Male and Female],the Magpie,Sparrow,Myna etc were busy catching insects etc.
                    The nest seems a little worn out,as it IS being used for the second time.
3/4/2013:-
                  0830 to 1900 Hrs:- The Sunbird pair made about 61 trips. They might have made more trips for feeding the Chicks,as I was absent for about 2 Hours in between.
                  Had more Berries, than usual today.All the Birds[Sparrows,Mynas,Sunbirds,Cockoo,Red-vented Bul Bul,Magpie,Indian Robin,Parrots were present.they sang nicely]
 4/4/2013:-
                   The Male worked very hard to feed the Chicks.
5/4/2013:-
                   0630Hrs:-Today saw THE Sunbird Chick.It poked its head,out of the entrance.There is ONLY ONE.It is about 3 cm tall!It NEVER did this again today,as it seems frightened after this.Soon after,the Mom,came twice near me,as if admonishing me for frightening" the chick!".Her behaviour was HUMAN!!!
Feeding:-
              0700 to 0800Hrs:- The Mom fed 5 times and the pop twice.
               0800 to 1300Hrs:-Mom alone was feeding the Chick regularly.She might have made about 40 sorties for the day.
               1300 to 1900Hrs:- Both Pop and Mom fed the Chick,but the pop worked harder with "intense" feeding!I saw the Male taking away the white faeces sac.of the Chick. 
               Today also all the Birds came.

                1630Hrs:- Saw the female feeding the chick
7/4/2013:-
                1330Hrs:- Saw the Male feeding the chick
8/4/2013:-
                 Did not track the activity of the Sunbirds
9/4/2013:-
                 No activity at the Sunbirds' nest.Chick absent.The chick seems to have fledged and flown away.
                Saw one Male Sunbird today and the tweeting of this species.Hope to see the Chick soon.Hope it has survived. 
11/4/2013:-
                  The battered nest used twice in about 3 and a half months,is about 2.5 inches from  the Left,.I wish I had a Camera or Video  Camera of a professional,so that the photo would be,clearer.The beehive, is hidden by leaves of the Berry Tree.

  In the second photo just above,the nest is in the foreground of the beehive seen at the top.
  By combining the two photos above one can make out the nest.

The nest is very clear left of the photo above. 
18/7/2013:-
                     Yesterday I found a Female Indian Robin Chick,about 2 months-old, along with its Mom.I had noticed,that the Pop and Mom were feeding,but could not locate the nest [it seems to be in a crack in a wall separating, my neighbour's house and mine.Now it is confirmed, that they were indeed feeding the Chick. 
                   The Beehive is gone as usual,and I expect a new one,at least by winter.
                   There are a lot of Pale Rock Sparrows,in my neighbourhood.
